prop 8

Members in California need your prayers. This is why.

-My family and friends don't have time to have a normal visit because ALL the members of the California have assignments to promote voting yes on Prop. 8.

-The only way for me to visit them is joining in working in their causes. Today I'm going to a sign waving party on the street corner for example.

-A few of my friends have had signs stolen from their yard.

-During phone calls they have been demoralized by profane responses

-They have all put their lives on hold for this cause

-My friend related an experience to me. This is the brief version: The opposing side to Prop 8 has noticed the heavy involvement of the church. During a stake conference, protesters were blocking the way to the Oakland temple. The protesters were stepping in front of cars, pounding on cars, and yelling unspeakable things to members as they were trying to get to the temple.

My friend mentioned the fear that she felt pressing through the protesting and then entering the temple and feeling grateful for the immense amount of peace inside. No matter what contention may be just outside the temple walls there is always peace within.
